The Department of Post-Government of India celebrated Buddha Purnima (Buddha's Birthday) with the release of a commemorative stamp on the Drukpa Buddhists.
The stamp is an artists composition of different elements.
It shows the Hemis Monastery of the Drukpa Lineage located 45 km in the southeast of Leh (Ladakh). In the background the Pangong Tso at a height of about 4'350 metres. The lake is about 5 kilometres wide at its broadest point and 134 km long and extends into Tibet.
