This is the 2nd issue of the stamp series featuring the images of the Dinosaur Park in Alberta, Red Bay Basque Whaling Station in Newfoundland and Labrador, Wood Buffalo National Park in Alberta and Northwest Territories, Kluane/Wrangell-St.Elias/Glacier Bay/Tatshenshini-Alsek Parks in Yukon, British Columbia and Alaska and Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park in Alberta and Montana.
The previous stamps and related collectibles, issued 3rd July 2015 were pulled from sale due to an incorrect photograph, that was not of the Dinosaur Provincial Park. The incorrect image was discovered on the July 3 issue date, and Canada Post decided to recall the items.
The stamps were issued (die–cut/self–adhesive) in 2 booklets of 6 stamps (6 x 1.20 & 6 x 2.50), as miniaturesheet (perforated/water-activated) and imprinted on a set of five stationery postal cards.
The Dinausaur Provincial Park stamp and the Red Bay Basque Whaling Station stamp issued on 16th January 2017 in smaller version as non-denomination stamps (Permanent Domestic, 85-cent first-class) again.
