"Nature Parks"
Issue date: 22th September 2015

Luxembourg’s three nature reserves together occupy about one-third of the country’s territory. While the two nature reserves of Obersauer and Our are located in the Ardennes in the North of Luxembourg, the Müllerthal nature preserve extends from the middle of the country to its eastern edge. The nature reserve regions are excellent holiday resorts for all nature, culture and sports enthusiasts. The purpose of the nature reserve in Luxembourg is to maintain sensitive land-scapes and at the same time enable an economic development of the regions. The year 2015 is a milestone for the nature preserves in the history of nature reserves in Luxembourg, with the official establishment of the Müllerthal nature reserve and the extension of the Obersauer and Our nature reserves.

Awe-inspiring expanses, rugged cliffs, unspoilt nature: In a very individual manner, the Luxembourg photographer Raymond Clement explores the wild and constantly fascinating landscapes of the Luxembourg nature reserves Our, Obersauer, and Mullerthal. In his captivating colour photography Clement shows both the spectacular slopes of the Luxembourg Ardennes, the impressive rock formations of the Müllerthal, the endless valleys and sprawling forests as well as also small, often inconspicuous details. Clement's photos show in a vivid and at the same time inspiring way both the beauty and the sensitivity of the landscape along with its importance for people.

The waterfall is beeing created by an historic dam of a mill existing no longer. The place is not far away from a spot called "Vogelsmühle", an area between the villages Beaufort and Berdorf at the creek "Ernz Noire" or "Schwarze Ernz". This creek leads a few km further, at "Grundhof" in the border river "Sauer".
