Ecuador post put into circulation "Third mission GEODESIC France – Ecuador" to celebrate the 280 years of the visit of the first GEODESIC mission, which brought the country benefits in areas of mathematics and cartography. The issue is made up of two stamps. The first shows the volcano Chimborazo, declared by a scientific expedition franco-ecuatoriana, in February 2016, as the highest mountain in the world mesured from the center of the Earth. The second stamp is an illustration of the first GEODESIC mission, featuring scientists Louis Godin, Charles-Marie de La Condamine and Pierre Bouguer, members of the Royal Academy of Sciences in Paris, opposite a globe, recalling his important research for the Ecuador.
