The Mali i Gjerë range stretches from northwest to south-east between the Drino River valley in the east and the Bistrica River Basin in the west. Its surface area is about 440 km² and located mostly in Albania (54 km² in Greece). The Greek part is also known as Mourgana Mountains.
The highest summits of the range are the Mali i Pusit (1'564 m), Mali i Frashërit (1'800 m) und Mali i Nikollaqit (1'598 m).
It depicts a view towards the northern ridge of the Mali i Frashërit (Çepon).
