The Hoggar Mountains, also known as the Ahaggar Range, is a highland region in the central Sahara in southern Algeria. The highest point in the area and also in Algeria is Mt. Tahat at 2'908 m. The range is part of Algeria's Ahaggar National Park, which covers an area of approximately 450'000 square kilometers in the Saharan Algeria Region.

The Iharen phonolitic plug.
The Tindi Iharen (1'563 m) rises about 300 metres above the surrounding plateau and is located about 15 kilometres in the north of the oasis city Tamanrasset (22°52'50.54"N 5°35'36.82"E).
