The Grande Kabylie is a mountainous region between Algiers and Skikda and part of the Tell Atlas, which runs parallel to the Mediterranean coast for about 1'500 kilometres from Morocco, through Algeria to Tunisia.

The Grande Kabylie, also known as Djurdjura Range, is separated from the coastal hills by the Wadi Sebaou valley and is extending in east-west direction for about 40 kilometres. The main peaks are known as the Lalla Khedidja (2'308 m), Akouker (2'304 m) and Heïdzer (2'164 m).
