The Snowy Mountains scheme is a hydroelectricity and irrigation complex in in south-east Australia.
The Snowy River originates in the Kosciuszko National Park and flows south to Victoria. Many tunnels, dams, generators and other parts of the Snowy Mountains Scheme are located within the park. The Scheme consists of sixteen major dams, seven power stations, pumping stations, pipelines and aqueducts that were constructed between 1949 and 1974.
