The Arthur Range is located in the Southwest Nationalpark and belongs to the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. The range is broken into two main section, the Western Arthurs and the Eastern Arthurs. The highest point is the Federation Peak at 1'224 m in the Eastern Arthurs.

This glacial lake Oberon lies within the Western Arthur Range in the Southwest National Park, which (along with the contiguous Cradle Mountain – Lake St. Clair National Park, Walls of Jerusalem National Park and Franklin–Gordon Wild Rivers National Parks) is also part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
