The Ötztal Alps are located in the State of Tyrol in southern Austria and the Province of South Tyrol in northern Italy. It borders to the north-west to the Samnaun Mountain and Lechtal Alps, in the north-east to the Mieminger Mountains, in the east to the Stubaier Alps and in the south to Italian mountain ranges,
The highest summit is the Wildspitze at 3'774 metres.
