The Salto del Laja is located about 30 kilometres in the north of the Chilean city Los Ángeles and consist of four horseshoe falls. Large islands divide the Laja river into two arms and each of these arms are divided in two even smaller arms.
The two main falls are located on the northern arm. They are about 35 metres high and about 110 and 95 metres wide. The two smaller falls on the southern arm, known as Salto Chico, are located about 1'200 metres in the east of the main falls and are about 20 m high and 80 and 120 m wide.
