Bogda Shan

The Bogda Shan of the Tian Shan stretches for about 350 kilometres from east of the city Ürümqi towards east. Its highest summit is the Bogda Feng at 5'445 m.

The snowy peak of Tian Shan Mountain Bogda Feng, situated close to the city Ürümqi, is covered by snow all the year through and thus nicknamed “the sea of snow”. On the mountainside of Bogda Feng there’s a lake called “Tianchi”. It is 1'900 metres above sea level and as deep as 90 metres.
