Muztagh Ata 7'509 m

The Muztagh Ata at 7'509 metres is the second highest mountain of the Pamir Range. The highest mountain of the Pamir is the Kongur and the third highest Pik Ismoil Somoni in Tajikistan. The Mutztagh Ata is situated just in the south of the Kongur. (Sometimes the two summits are listet to belong to the Kunlun Shan or Chinese Pamir).

The mountain is very well visible from the Karakoram Highway.  

First ascent: 1956, Abalakow (Soviet Union) and Chu Ying-hua (China).
