The Song Shan stretches about 60 kilometres between the cities of Luoyang and Zhengzhou in the Henan Province.
It is the "Centre Great Mountain" of "The Five Great Mountains".

In the foreground the Pagoda Forest of Shaolin Temple in Songshan, which is known as the world largest pagoda forest of Buddhism. There are nearly 250 stone and brick pagodas ranging from the Tang, Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties (618-1911).
The Yellow River creates the unparalleled "Water Charm of Central China". There the Ancient Capital of the Zhao State, together with the city of Zhenzhou, the Shaolin Temple in Songshan, the Ancient Observatory in Dengfeng, the ancient capital of Kaifeng, the Lingyan Temple and the Simen Pagoda, watches the Yellow River flowing eastwards.
