Cirque de Gavarnie

The Cirque de Gavarnie is a cirque in the central Pyrenees.

The cirque is on its deepest point 800m wide and about 3000m wide at the top. The peaks of the Cirque de Gavarnie marks the border between France and Spain (Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park). The Cirque is with the Cirque de Troumouse, Cirque d'Estaubé and the Pic du Midi d’Ossau part of the Pyrenees National Park.

The Gavarnie falls are situated in the Cirque de Gavarnie, near Gavarnie village. With its overall drop of 422 metres, it is the highest waterfall in France. France 1988 Cirque de Gavarnie Mountain stamp timbre
