The left stamp shows a view across the Mer de Glace glacier towards partly cloudy summits of the Mont Blanc massif. The right stamp shows the Brazil rain forst with the Cachoeira do Aracá.

The stamp was issued in the series "Collector Timbré - Rhône-Alpes 2009".

The Mer de Glace is located on the northern slopes of the Mont Blanc massif. It is the longest glacier in France (7 kilometres long and 200 metres deep / 2011)

The Mont Blanc tramway runs from a connection with the SNCF at Saint-Gervais-les-Bains Le Fayet station to the Nid d'Aigle station at the Bionnassay glacier at an altitude of 2,372 m. 

 

France 2010, Rattachement de la Savoie à la France Traité de Turin 1860.

Turin, Treaty of 1860, a treaty between France and the Kingdom of Sardinia (Piedmont) concerning the transfer of the provinces of Savoy and Nice to France. The treaty was signed Mar. 24,1860, in Turin.

The stamp shows the Mont Blanc massif from the south-west and is existing with gum (water-activated stamp) and as self-adhesive stamp.

Pointe Helbronner is served by the Funivie Monte Bianco, a cable car from La Palud, a village near Courmayeur, and also with the Vallee Blanche Aerial tramway leading to the Aiguille du Midi at a distance of 5 km, which in its turn is the top station of the Téléphérique de l'Aiguille du Midi, the cable car arriving from Chamonix.

The stamp (self adhesive) was issued in the series "Collector Timbré - Rhône-Alpes 2011".

The Montenvers Railway is a rack railway line and runs from SNCF station in Chamonix to the Hotel de Montevers station, at the Mer de Glace Glacier, at an altitude of 1,913 metres.

The stamp was issued in the booklet
"Patrimoines de France - La grande épopée du voyage en train".

It shows the Z209 of the Saint-Gervais-Vallorcine Line. The 36.5 kilometres long metre gauge railway is connecting SNCF's Saint-Gervais-Le Fayet station with Vallorcine and the border with Switzerland (Le Châtelard) through Chamonix.
