The Akrafjall is a volcanic mountain formed about 2 million years ago from Kjalarnes volcano.
Is is situated between the fjordes Borgarfjörður and Hvalfjörðurnorth in the north of Reikjavik. Akrafjall has two major peaks, Geirmundartindur (642 m) and Háihnúkur (555 m).
