The Dettifoss is situated (appr. 65°48'51.87"N 16°23'4.97"W) at the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum, the source of it is the Vatnajökull glacier.
It is known as one of the most powerful waterfall in Europe. In terms of volume discharge it has an average water flow of 193 cubic metre per second.
Dettifoss is double in high, then the Rhine Falls in Switzerland, but it has less water.
