The Súlur (highest point 664 m) is forming toghether with other peaks a peninsula between the bay of Breiðdalsvík to the south and the fjord of Stöðvarfjörður to the north.
This mountain ridge of interestingly shaped peaks belongs to the eroded Breiðdalur central volcano.
