Bratan Caldera


The 11 x 6 km wide Bratan caldera (also known as Catur or Tjatur caldera or the Buyan-Bratan volcanic complex) is situated in north-central Bali and contains three caldera lakes, Lake Tamblimgam, Lake Buyan and Lake Bratan. The Bratan Caldera is situated about 60 kilometres in the west of the volcano Agung.

The highest peaks of the Bratan Caldera are the Gunung Batukau 2'276 m, Gunung Lesong 1'862 m and the Gunung Pohan 2'001 m. Indonesia Bratan Caldera Pura Ulun Danu Bratan temple stamp 1987

The Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, or Pura Bratan, is a major water temple. The temple complex is located on the shores of the Lake Braten near Bedugul.
