The Chichibu-Tama-Kai Nationalpark is situated at the intersection of prefectures Saitama, Yamanashi, Nagano and Tokyo. The park covers an area of over 2'500 square kilometres. Within the park are several mountains higher than 2'000 metres and they all belong to the Okuchichibu Range. The highest of it are the Mt. Kinpusan (2'599 m) and the Mt. Kitaokusenjodake (2'601 m).

Within the park can be found the 30 metres high Sengataki Falls (Shosenkyo Gorge) and the five-tiered waterfall Nanatsu Gama-Godan-no-Taki (Nishizawa Ravine).

Famous other peaks include Mt. Kobushigatake ( 2'475m) marking the intersection of Saitama, Nagano and Yamanashi Prefectures; Mt. Kumotori (2'017m) at the junction of Tōkyō-to, Saitama and Yamanashi Prefectures; Mt. Daibosatsurei-san (2'057m) in the Yamanashi Prefecture; Ryokami-san in the Saitama Prefecture.
