Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji
Near Umezawa Manor in Sagami Province
Sagami Province was a province of Japan located in what is today the central and western Kanagawa Prefecture.
Umezawa Manor was the ancestral home of the Umezawa Clan. It was located on the edge of a marsh between two forks of the Suido River, near the foot of the Gitte-Yatay Mountains. The image shows in the foreground a stream, five cranes feed and two others fly toward Fuji. The majestic cone of Mt Fuji, deep blue at the bottom and fading to light blue and white at the summit, rises above the green slopes.
