Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji
Kajikazawa in Kai Province
Kai Province was a province of Japan in the area of Japan that is today Yamanashi Prefecture.
Kajikazawa was at that time a village, today it is part of the town of Fujikawa.
Standing in the river on a rugged rock washed by the turbulent waves, a fisherman casts his net lines. His determination to make a good catch is expressed in his posture – foot firmly gripping the rock and body bent to hold the lines. His little son, sitting on the rock below him, tends the fish basket. Fuji rises in the near distance, revealing its summit through thick fog.
