The Mauritania Railway consists of a single, 704-kilometres long railway line linking the iron mining centre of Zouerate and M'Haoudat mines with the port of Nouadhibou. It is known as one of the longest trains in the world, it runs with 4 locomotives and 210 freight cars with a total length of 2,5 km across the Sahara desert.
