The Mount Gamsberg is situated about 90 kilometres in the southwest of Windhoek between the Naukluft Mountains and the Tsaris Mountains in the south and the Khomas Highlands in the northeast. It is nicknamed "The Namibia's Table Mountain". It belongs to the Hakos Mountains.
The plateau on its top covers an area of 2.3 square kilometres.
