Mount Rangitoto 260 m

The Rangitoto volcano was formed about 550 - 600 years ago.

The Rangitoto's volcanic cone dominates the skyline of the north-east of Auckland City. 

It is the largest volcano of the Auckland Volcanic Field. It is 260 metres high and 5.5 kilometres in diameter. At the summit there is a central crater 60 m deep and 150 m in diameter.
