The Lermontov waterfall and cliffs is a scenic spot of the city Kislovodsk in the northern Caucasus. It is located in the Olkhovka Gorge and is named after Mikhail Lermontov (Russian writer, poet and painter).

The stamp was issued in the series "Territories of the Russian Federation III".
The stamp features a series of views of the Caucasian Mineral Waters area, one of the most famous resorts of Russia. In the centre of the stamp there is the Lermontov waterfall. In the left part of the stamp there is the building of the Major Narzan Baths in Kislovodsk (1903). On the right part of the stamp there is the "Eagle" monument on the Hot Mountain in Pyatigorsk (1903).
