At the tip of the Cape Peninsula lies Cape Point, a nature reserve within the Table Mountain National Park, a declared World Heritage Site, encopassing 7'750 hectares of rich and varied flora and fauna.

The Cape Point is a cliff at the southeastern end of the 52 kilometres long Cape Peninsula. The highest point of the cliff is at 238 metres above sealevel.

The illustration of the souvenirsheet is showing an artists composition of the planet earth, the Cape Point and the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT). It is situated on the Karoo, the central high-plateau of South Africa, at an altitude of 1'760 metres, near the city of Sutherland.
