Xiaomen Islet (Penghu Archipelago) covers an area of about 0.5 square kilometers. Xiaomen Islet is a lava plateau with a slope descending from north to south. On its southern end is a village, basaltic cliffs are made up of the other three shores.

Xiaomen Islet is located in the north of Hsiyu or Xiyu, connected by the Xiaomen Bridge.

 

Taiwan 2010, Whale Arch.
The Whale Arch (23°39'18.59"N 119°31'11.18"E) is the most famous coastal erosion landform on Xiaomen Islet. Originally a columnar basalt cliff, the base of the cliff was undercut by waves until eventually an arch was formed.
The stamp was issued in the series "Scenery - Penghu Islands".

Basalt Rocks, Xiaomen Islet (NT$5): Xiaomen Islet is located to the north of Penghu’s Yuwong Island. Regarded as a living geology classroom, the basalt mesa island’s diverse geologic scenery epitomizes Penghu.
The stamp was issued in the series "Scenery - Penghu Islands".
