Hasan Boğuldu is a small waterfall, which drops into a pool known as Hasan Boğuldu Lake. It is located in the north of Edremit Bay within the Kaz Mountains National Park.

According to the legend, there were two lovers called Emine and Hasan. Hasan was living in downtown which is flat field, and Emine was living in uptown which is in mountains. Hasan wanted to marry with Emine, but due to the tradition, he had to carry 50 kilograms of salt in a bag to uptown. He started to carry the bag. He got tired. When he reached to lake, bag got wet because of salt. Bag started to be heavier and heavier. In the end Hasan couldn’t carry the bag anymore and he has drown in the lake. So that’s why the name of lake is known as Hasan Boğuldu (Hasan has drown). After Hasan’s death, Emine hung herself to a tree.

Close to it (500 metres away) s an other popular 17 metres high waterfall, known as Sütüven Falls.
