The 4'270 metres hight Mount of the Holy Cross belongs to the Sawatch Range and is located near the town of Holy Cross City in Colorado. It was named for the distinctive cross-shaped snowfield on the northeast face.
The first recorded ascent was in 1873 by F. V. Hayden and W. H. Jackson (Americans).
