The Lake Clark National Park and Preserve was established as a national park and preserve in 1980. The area of the park is 10'603 square km and that of the preserve is an additional 5'708 square km on the western shore on the Cook Inlet. Centerpiece of the park is the more than 65 km long Lake Clark. Within the park are the two active volcanoes Redoubt and Iliamna.
