The Pikes Peak is a 4’302 metres high mountain in the Rocky Mountains. The mountain rises about 2'500 metres above the city of Colorado Springs and is a designated National Hostoric Landmark.

The top of Pikes peak is connected with Manitou Springs by the "Manitou and Pike's Peak Railway". The railway is the highest in North America. The summit station is at 4'301 m on its top.

The discovery of Pikes Peak dates back to the early 1700’s but wasn’t called Pikes Peak until the unsuccessful expedition led by the explorer Zebulon Montgomery Pike, whom the mountain was later named for.
