Bromo Tengger Semeru Nationalpark

The Virginia Range is stretching for about 50 kilometres in north/south and about 65 kilometres in east/west direction. The highest summits are Mt. Davidson (2'397 m), Ophir Hill (2'372 m) and Mt. Bullion (2'341 m).

The stamp's design, based on an old print, depicts Henry Comstock at the Mount Davidson site of the rich silver deposit discovered by Patrick McLaughlin and Peter O'Riley.

The stamp depicts Virginia City.

Virginia City is a goast town in Storey County/Nevada. It is surrounded by mountains of the Virginia Range to the west and the Flowery Range to the east. The highest peak of the Virginia Range, Mount Davidson, rises in the west above Virginia City.
