The Ruwenzori Range, also known as Rwenzori or Mountains of the Moon, is situated between the Lake Albert in the north and the Lake Edward in the south.
The Ruwenzori Range marks the borderline between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Ruwenzori is a massive mountain range, rather than singular volcanic remnants such as the continent's two tallest mountains, Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. The Ruwenzori Range has several major peaks: Mount Stanley (5'109 m), Mount Speke (4'890 m), Mount Baker (4'843m), Mount Emin (4'792m), Mount Gessi (4'715 m) and Mount Luigi di Savoi (4'627 m).
